Let us explain...

Excellence

Highly skilled, trained and experienced staff. We are a registered Vet Nurse training centre with the RCVS.

All our staff team undertake regular training, updates and lunch and learns(not just the clinicians). Our Vets regularly attend seminars to update and improve their knowledge. Carlos has been working alongside the Reptile Room to develop his understanding of the care and husbandry of exotic species. Andrew is a member of the Association of Veterinary Soft tissue surgeons which give him access to and support from world leaders in this field. Carlos is successfully developing his interest and expertise in the use of Acupuncture to complement conventional treatments.

Our trained nurses are mentors for the student nurse programme and attend the update/support days held regularly by Myerscough College.

Compassion

All our staff are pet owners, we know how it feels to leave a ’member of your family’ with a stranger.

Entrusting your pet to a  "stranger" you see maybe twice a year, even for an examination or injection can be a ‘big deal’ we genuinely understand that.

Many of us have had to say good bye to a beloved animal, we know a little about how you may be feeling and can support and empathise with you, and guide you through the various options with knowledge, dignity and experience.

Because we know how much an animal contributes to our own well being, we are as a team supporting an animal charity through fund raising events and in house promotion. Canine Partners trains providers assistance dogs to people with a disability, these amazing dogs provide support in relation to basic human needs such as shopping, laundry, getting dressed, they provide company, comfort and love to their owner allowing them to regain confidence and independence, please check out their website. https://caninepartners.org.uk/

Involvement

Because entrusting your animal to someone else is such a big thing, we really want you to get to know us and be involved in all aspects of the treatment. We will listen to you and your suggestions, you know your animal best and we will be honest about the treatment options.

As part of the involvement theme we, actively encourage and support students, work experience placements and go out to schools to promote animal care and choice.

If getting to the surgery is tricky, then we can arrange for your pet to be collected for the appointment, and we can offer you a lift as well so that you can be at the consult.

We can deliver repeat medications or items you have purchased from the online shop, just ring the surgery to book your delivery slot when we are in your neighbourhood.

Our nurses run health check clinics daily, booking is essential so please contact us and we'll talk you through all the options give you advice and if necessary refer you to the vet for further treatment and advice.
